Kosuke Kitajima

Kosuke started swimming at the age of five. He first competed in the Olympics at Sydney in 2000, where he placed fourth in the 100m breaststroke. At 2004 Athens Olympic Games, he won gold in both the 100m and 200m breaststroke. In 2008, he won the same events at the Beijing Olympics, becoming the first Japanese swimmer to win gold in two consecutive Olympic Games. At the 2012 London Olympic Games, he won silver as part of the medley relay team in the 4 x 100m race. At the Japan Nationals in April 2016, he formally announced his retirement from competitive swimming.
In 2009, he established his own company IMPRINT, where he took leadership in starting projects such as KITAJIMAQUATICS, a swimming school for children to adults, and Perform Better Japan, becoming the CEO of the Japanese subsidiary of Perform Better, a functional training equipment supplier and physical trainer institute based in the United States.
Outside of IMPRINT, he currently acts as vice-president of the Tokyo Swimming Association, the Chief Olympic Officer for Coca-Cola Japan, and the Chief Sports Officer for me&stars.
